About the awards
The On The Tools Awards, sponsored by Toolstation, are back – bigger and better for 2022. We’re going to be recognising the skill, innovation, and resilience of UK tradespeople in a glittering ceremony this November.
Relaunching following a two-year delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the awards set out to celebrate the very best of UK construction.
The event will be held on the 18th of November at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham with Toolstation as the Headline sponsor. Over £15,000 of trophies, prizes, and treats will be awarded to UK tradespeople on the evening. There will also be some amazing food and unmissable entertainment, making for a truly special night.
Why it’s important
During the pandemic, tradespeople were identified as ‘key workers’. Many continued working: helping to build hospitals, repairing plumbing, heating and electrics, and carrying out essential maintenance to keep the country going.
The awards offer a way of celebrating the achievements of the best and brightest in the construction industry during this period and recognise the tough two years they experienced.
CEO of On The Tools, Lee Wilcox, said:
“Tradespeople are too often under-appreciated for their hard work and dedication. The On The Tools awards aim to give them the recognition they deserve. We’re especially excited to be able to re-launch after a very difficult pandemic, where tradespeople really were some of the unsung heroes.
The stories from the construction industry during this time are important to share – there was no choice for many of them to stay home, they were out and getting their hands dirty and putting themselves at risk to keep things going. The awards tell those stories, and with the help of the brands sponsoring the categories we are able to reward tradespeople who went above and beyond.”
How to get involved
The On The Tools awards is all about honouring and celebrating the best of the best in the world of construction.
